Hollywood Hollywood!

I think I need to sit down!

Hollywood are after me now……….

Is my hair ok?  Are my seams straight?

Well we can blame the Damien fella and his Fluffy links!  Well it was not quite a fluffy link, it was more of a blog post… go easy on me I am all exyrite and delyrite  about this Hollywood business.

Oh, I need a cip of coffee, hang in there a minute………..

Are you ready now?

We have all seen the filums of the way into Hollywood with the name up there on the hills.  Thats not Hollywood at all at all; Hollywood is in Dundalk.

Well Made in Hollywood are in Dundalk and they have a blog!

Being the nice little old GM, I added a little comment and what do you know I got an email back!  Now I know you are a nosey lot and want to know all about it…

Dear Grannymar

thanks for your comments on our site.

“Could you make me a Toyboy? I need one to take me to the Irish Blog Awards”
Of course we could, but i wouldn’t recommend it as he wouldn’t be much craic, he could end up falling to bits if he was abused, he be a bit of a lightweight and he wouldn’t have a Euro to his name. Now if it’s the name Toyboy, we will do that no problem and have “him” at the blog awards.

Thanks again for your input.

Please let me know where to send you foam name Grannymar or Toyboy. It will be approx 6 – 8″ tall and 2″ thick so that it will stand on a shelf or desk.

Best regards

Fran Hollywood

I wrote back to thank the nice Fran:

Better make it Grannymar, so that when dementia sets in I know who I am! 🙄

I’m starting to pack!

I’m absolutely thrilled and excited to have made it to the finals of the Irish Blog awards in the category of Best Personal Blog.

The list has some great talent and I am amazed to make it through this year.

Best Personal Blog – Sponsored by Microsoft Ireland’s Developer and Platform Group

Thanks so much to Damien Mulley for all the background work and the category sponsors Microsoft Ireland’s Developer and Platform Group

Best of luck to all nominated:

The party continues….

UPDATE:  For anyone flying to Cork with Ryanair:  BRING YOUR PASSPORT all emails from them this week say that it is needed for check-in.  I had been told previously that my driving licence was sufficient!

Nice Day Thank God!

Our snow has melted and with it the memory of the bitter cold days and nights…  On the other side of the world the fires still burn and the work is only really beginning…  I wrote about it here a week ago.

Friday’s email message

The radio is getting sad

Talk back radio have people appealing to know if their friends and relatives are alive

But we are not getting as many positive answers

The death toll still remains the same at 182 but

Today both the Police and the Red Cross begged for people to register their where abouts.

The missing have increased to over 120 and more

The government suggest that the toll will rise to over 300

The cheep press suggest that it is closer to 400

Tragically the firey’s and police came across 8 bodies huddled together over a baby on Friday. Now they are identified in their new names of 1 to 9 with their GPS map reference

It was easier to find people in cars on the roads

A different thing in the bush and in some of the houses

Facemasks and gloves are only now being handed out to volunteers to start the meticulous search through the devastation of what remains. The temperatures are forecast to jump up by Wednesday.

This refreshable map tracks where the fires are: http://mapvisage.appspot.com/fires/FireMap.html

All that some survivors have left is their dignity – Their knickers or jocks have come from somebody else!

It kinda puts our recession into perspective!
