Gathering my thoughts

What a wonderful night/weekend we had at the Irish Blog Awards 2009. The Cork International Airport Hotel was a fantastic venue with surprises around every corner.  The staff treated us like Royalty and they were so very accommodating to our every need. I was thrilled to catch up with old friends and those who until that point, were just names on a page or twitter.  Already I am looking forward to IBA10.  Did I hear Belfast mentioned as the next venue??  I hope they are not thinking of Grannymar Gables as a venue, it is waaaay to small!

Thank you Damien and everyone who helped in the background to pull off a hugely successful Irish Blogathon*!  Sabrina, once again did a Fantabalous job organizing the Ladies Tea Party.  It was so good that two Toyboys gate-crashed to check up on me.  It is ok 🙄 I kept them down on their knees – YES I DID!
Somebody organized that each category on the night was introduced with a short Video…

Irish blogger Grannymar watches the infamous 2 girls, 1 cup – but what’s the twist at the end? This video was made to introduce the best Food and Drink blog at the 2009 Irish Blog Awards and features Lottie and Raptureponies in shot.

Ciara Crossan suggests that we ALL dress up next year?!  Kind of a 5th birthday celebration – Blog Awards fancy dress?  Dress up in what they blog about – not sure I could go as a bottle of vinegar ❗  Or everyone could go along in what they wear while blogging….

I need to lie down…

get me my spray…..

I just had a vision of Ben Kenealy blogging in his altogether ❗

Not sure this blogging is good for my heart.

My my Granny! Like the ever (battery) ready bunny, you just keep going and going. Congratulations! I know you’ll keep up the good work; I don’t even have to tell you.

Can’t believe it’ll be 5 years next year since the first blog awards.

    Next year I’m gonna go nuts… 😉

(yeah, not so much – or plenty of milk…)

Good to see you as always GM!

Haha . . .bugger the blog awards, you’ll be receiving an Acadamy Award before long . .(second thoughts . . .don’t give up yer day job!) Glad you all had a good time. I’ve just been over to Elly’s and I think that’s what it’s all about. A bunch of people having a big night out and a lot of fun. Nice to get a gong if you’re lucky but otherwise just good to meet the people on the other end of the ether. God, if I had to ‘dress up’ as my Blog I wouldn’t know where to start. I’d look like an upturned garbage can or an unmade bed!

Grannymar – I have the evidence on camera of what went on at the Ladies Tea Party. I’ll take cash 😆

I don’t mind wearing a theatre gown to IBA10 but please tell me I don’t have to wear the paper knickers and hat as well 🙁

The blog awards sounded like so much fun. Wish I could have gone, but i’m fairly new at all this, so if its in Belfast next year it won’t be too far away and I’ll know everybody’s blogs better by then.
I wouldn’t fancy dressing up as a dog in harness though, and I wouldn’t know where I’m going so wouldn’t make a very good example of a guide dog. A case of the blind leading the blind I think.

@Judy – I saw another one with the Toyboys on their knees… maybe Elly will sort that one out.

@Phil – Did you really see me? How many GMs were there?
I think the Tea party Video is what you are after. Suzy is responsible for it and Elly, Ben and Peter D. have a copy.

@Baino – The party is great and an award is a bonus. You know I think this come as your blog idea might catch on.

@Steph – Do you have a video of events also?
Come in a green gown BUT make sure it overlaps at the back… I don’t want you getting a chill 🙄

@Jennifer – we were all new to blogging at one time. Easiest way is to dive in at the deep end. Remember there are no strangers, only friends you haven’t met yet.
