A Day Out

BarCamp Belfast is on today at The University of Ulster.

The Belfast campus on York Street is part of the city’s vibrant Cathedral Quarter

With 365 people registered to attend it sounds like a wonderful day in store.  I am really looking forward to catching up with old friends and to meeting some new ones.

While there I hope to find time to explore Water: Symbol, Element, Utility?

An exhibition with over 60 pieces of art all based around the theme of water.. From architects to artists, exhibits range from textiles to photography, sculpture to fine art … and even one piece of performance art.

The ‘Water: Symbol, Element, Utility?’ exhibition is open to the public at the University of Ulster’s Belfast campus until Thursday 30 April in Room 82A02.

    Steph & WWW,

I did! I had fun but retired early. With a speaker less than a quarter my age, it certainly made me feel old! 🙁

Seriously, I enjoyed my time there and chatted to so many wonderful people.

Hoping your having fun and enjoying life. Something I’m working on as well..after all there are no reruns in life so we better make hay while the sun shines…

Why are they called BarCamps? Sounded like a booze up until I realised it’s a geek convention . . would have been a bit disappointed at the lack of chardy I think? the exhibition sounds good. I love browsing galleries!

@Dorothy – If we knew that today was our last, would we waste it worrying? I hope not.

@Baino – Blame the Americans for the name BarCamp. In Ireland the ‘Bar’ is never far away. When all the talks are over and the place returned to how we found it, everyone adjourns to a nearby hostelry for refreshment and food. The craic is mighty. Alas yesterday I was unable for Part 11 🙁

A penny for your thoughts...
