Driving in the rain on a dark and windy night.
There is a road that leads into my town on the journey from Belfast. Single carriageway in each direction with poor lighting for only part of the way, a couple of hidden dips as it leads downhill to the town in the valley. The longer stretch without street lights is actually easier as the full beams can be employed.
There are no footpaths and plenty of overhanging trees. In winter the shadows dance about the road as the branches wave in the wind. People often walk the two mile stretch facing the on-coming traffic. With the modern trend for dark clothing it can be difficult to see these pedestrians until you are quite close.
I hope I never feel that bump!
