When I’m Gone, is the title of a wonderful Post in the form of a poem at the Elder Storytelling Place, a blog for the over 50s, run by Ronni Bennett, it is a place for Bloggers and non-Bloggers to submit stories or posts. You will find the Instructions for submitting here.
I have in the past contributed some items to the site. Another familiar name you will find there in Nancy Leitz who is a regular visitor here. In fact Nancy was commenting here for many months before she realised that she knew me in real life.
When I’m Gone is by A. Peri and I urge you to read it.
A little taster to whet your appetite
I want to say that when I’m gone I want you to remember me
in the sheets of rain, flashes of lightning and the roar of thunder
that rides over the nighttime skies.
I don’t want you to sit beside a hole in the ground
to weep. I’m not there.
I’m in the folds of tulips, the fragrance of jasmine,
the whispers of a child and music that makes you
want to dance until you’re breathless.
Now over you go and read it for yourself!
