Clocks are all around me it is hard to miss the time,
Cooker, microwave & heating clocks like Soldiers in a line.
The laptop and hi-fi have clocks that have no sound
Even on my blanket now a clock hangs near the ground.

Sitting on the mantle a clock ticks my life away
At times the seconds feel like hours, with no one there to play.
My mobile phone does have a clock that tells me what to do,
God forbid, they add a clock to the flusher on the loo!
