Through my window – how the view changed in one week.
The ‘Saint Monica’ (Cotoneaster) tree was heavy laden and very colourful on 11th December, just a week ago.
Three days later, the party was under way.
15th December and word is out about the good food in this neighbourhood, I counted about 13 birds in this one.
Sunday 18th December 2011
A night of high winds, a fall of snow and a couple of days of icy conditions, made the birds determined to strip the tree of its bounty.
I wonder where the birds will dine on Christmas day?
That was some bird table …
The birds are headed to Rummy’s garden for their Christmas meal.
Cardi – it is an empty bird table today!
Mayo – They must have heard about his partying!
When the wild turkeys came sauntering through my neighborhood, I was surprised to see them eating berries off of the neighbor’s bushes. I thought the berries were poisonous. Maybe they are only poisonous to humans?
Delirious – some berries are poisonous to us, just as well or we greedy humans might never leave them any food!
Send them to ours; the cotoneaster here still has berries
speccy – Maybe they are not ripe yet. I have three cotoneaster trees and the birds feed from them in the same order every year. The one in the photos is always the last.
Yes, I have dogberries and they are about gone now. I think the bluejays hoard them.
Lovely pics, GM. Reminds me of the Mary Poppins song: Feed the Birds. Remember that?

WWW
What a difference!
WWW – I was singing/croaking/whatever – Feed the Birds, as I prepared the post.
Tilly – It is now totally colourless, so much so, that I moved my chair to the other side of the house!
The turkey that you will cook for Christmas?
Ramana – I will not be cooking a Turkey this year, Have something else planned for when Ell & George visit. They will have more than enough Turkey on Christmas day and over the holidays.
