“Watch where you put your feet.”. “Watch where you put your feet!”
Mammy was always chanting it.
It was back in the days when I was surrounded by a herd of lanky legged and knobbly kneed brothers. Not a pretty picture when you remember they were wearing short trousers. Not those ugly yokes that beer bellied brutes strut about in these days. No. These were knee length mini tailored suit trousers in grey. Always grey. And paired with socks with turn downs that sat just below those knobbly knees.
It was impossible to cross the floor without tripping over a dozen of those lanky legs.
“Watch where you put your feet.”
Pity I didn’t listen last Monday. Had I done so I might not look as pretty as this!
With an ankle like this:
The swelling is beginning to go down, thanks to a face flannel. I soaked it in neat white vinegar and squeezed out all the excess liquid then wrapped it round my ankle before putting on the brace. The easiest way to keep it in place was with elastic bands and it also helped make the brace more comfortable next my skin.
I replace the face flannel three or four time in the day.
What “lesson from mom” do you still live by today? was the topic chosen this week for the Loose Bloggers Consortium by Maria Silver Fox. Now hop on over and do the rounds of the other active members to see if they listened to what their mom said. I know it is only 05:22, but I want to go back to sleep, so I’ll hit publish and not be late for my deadline. 😉
