I’m working on it.

I began working on my planned ‘To Do List‘ for the year.

Day 5 and I have taken a few steps already.

1. I have made some enquiries about a new hairstylist. I am hoping to give one a try during the week. I have a large paper bag at the ready in case it doesn’t work out.

2. Arranged for the first of the renovations – A large double glazed sealed unit has become cloudy and needs to be replaced. I am hoping to see the world more clearly in a few weeks.

3. one aim was to speak to a stranger every day.I decided to keep a tally for myself in the hope it would give me a clear idea of how I do. A page in my notebook gains a strike for each new stranger I speak to. So far the tally is looking like this:

1111 1111 1111 1

I don’t intend up-dating every week, twice or three times over the year will do, otherwise it will become boring.

My to do list for 2013 includes yet another cleaning out and a possible yard/estate sale, with an eye to moving to a smaller abode. I’d better get busy, as the older I get the less likely I am to do any of that.

Good luck with yours. We need some new windows too – and to clean the ones we have!

Judy – Next up I want to see the movie Quartet, directed by Dustin Hoffman. The film stars Maggie Smith, Tom Courtenay, Pauline Collins, and Billy Connelly as retired opera singers all residents of a retirement home for gifted musicians.

    Grannymar,

Careful with all this talking to strangers bit!

You have already spoken to 16 people you do not know. You wouldn’t want to become known as the crazy lady who talks to every Tom, Dick and Harry who comes down the pike….

Nancy – I think I am already known as ‘The crazy lady’, much better than being known as a recluse! 😆

Hahah! Love the ‘paper bag’ comment! The good thing about hair is that it grows back, so I never mind experimenting – unless I’m going out somewhere special, of course.

Interesting venture, speaking to strangers. I think many of us have got out of the habit. I just hope you don’t pick too many immigrants who don’t speak English! It’d be about 50-50 in our town centre!

Jay – Welcome to my blog. I have always spoken to strangers, but this year I want to make a concentrated effort and learn some more interesting back stories about the people I meet.

I have bad hair days when my hair looks horrible. So guess what? I asked for a hat from hubby and my elder daughter for my birthday. Hubby has bought two and elder daughter will come by later with her choice.

Gigi – I only wear a hat in the very cold weather. In the past few weeks it had had a few extra airings, more to hide my hair than keep me warm. Now I am off to print some photos of how I want my hair to look when it is cut.

When you said “I have taken a few steps already” the first thing I thought of was your ankle. How is it? Any problems?

Sounds like you’re off to a good start for the new year, GM. Hope it gets better with each day.

    Blessings ~ Maxi

Maxi – I try not to think about my ankle unless it gives me a twinge – like it did in bed this morning. It is improving every day and I don’t intend letting it get in my way this year.

Barbara – I’m hoping to find a new hairdresser to give me the same haircut I have had for years. 😉 I have printed some photos to take along with me.
