I came across a quote on fb this morning:
The function of Theology? The recitation of the incomprehensible by the unspeakable to pick the pockets of the unthinking.~ Robert Anton Wilson
Not so sure I would use the ‘unspeakable’, I might prefer to put it this way:
The function of Theology? The recitation of the incomprehensible by those with dictionary diarrhoea to pick the pockets of the unthinking.
After all, if one was incapable of expressing in words, how could they recite the incomprehensible?
Try this for size:
“One man’s theology is another man’s belly laugh.”
~ Robert A. Heinlein
“How many hours are there in a mile? Is yellow square or round? Probably half the questions we ask-half our great theological and metaphysical problems-are like that.”
― C.S. Lewis
Found you, like your header picture.
Thank you.
I like your new blog format. Keep it!
i think I am beginning to like it. There are still a few tweaks I need to learn about.
Coming from a church with a lay clergy that isn’t paid for their service, I have to say that what I hear at church is very inspiring. What I read in the scriptures is also very inspiring. My life is better because of it. I highly recommend my religion. 😉 (LDS)
Delores, I know your religion is important to you. Alas, the older I get, the less I am enamored by organised religion.
Having just returned from Dublin, I have just one word to say about this;
Wha?
You picked a good one! Spending so much time with your dad is not good! Wha? 😉
🙂
I think it looks real super! Very clean and lean…nice header photo also.
Thank you, Alice. I still have things to learn and do, but so far I am happy.
