“Grannymar” – first of all I hope you have shaken off this irish bug by now. My indian bug unfortunately did not want to leave me quickly – but now its gone!!! the photograph above is really lovely, but “… gone to seed….like me!…” does not fit. Many women would be so lucky to look like you once over 50! 🙂 Carina
Carina, I am thankfully back to normal! The picture above is the remains of a clematis flower.
how utterly stupid of me not to see – having had my English garden filled with different Clematis – am I getting forgetful already? 🙂
Blame the heat! 😉
I would give an arm and a leg to go to seed like that picture. And you have a long long way to go too.
I thought it looked pretty in the sunshine. Alas i wilted long ago!
???: I thought “going to seed” meant the plant (or tree) stopped blooming, so that most of the plant’s energy could then go toward producing seed. It’s obvious to me that you’re still blooming, Grannymar!
yes, Alice, a plant goes to seed after the flowers have stopped blooming. The photo shows a clematis seed head.
If we didn’t go to seed there would be no more flowers.
Bridghid, I agree. It is all part of the normal run of life.
It’s a .. ‘Clematis Borisatis Johnsonatis’ to give it it’s full Latin name. 😉
Hope you are feeling better.
I am much better, but will need a rest when I eventually decide to go home.
Yes!! You always need a holiday at home to recover from a holiday away. Take care. Skype when you can–haven’t nattered with you in a loooooooooooooooong time!
I am still in Dublin and trying to write my LBC post for today. Not sure when I will travel back yet.
P S : The clematis photo is superb!!
I thought it looked like a spider in a fur coat!
