A Market Maker (M.M.) parked his brand new Porsche in front of the office to show it off to his colleagues.
As he was getting out of the car, a truck came speeding along and took off the door before zooming off.
More than a little distraught, the M.M. grabbed his mobile and called the police.
Five minutes later, the police arrive.
Before the officer had a chance to ask any questions, the man started screaming hysterically: “My Porsche, my beautiful silver Porsche, is ruined. No matter how long it’s at the panel beate’rs, it’ll simply never be the same again!”
After he had finished his rant, the policeman shook his head in disgust. “I can’t believe how materialistic you bloody M.M.’s are. You lot are so focused on your possessions that you don’t notice anything else in life.”
“How can you say such a thing at a time like this?” wailed the trader.
The officer replied: “Didn’t you realise that your arm was torn off when the truck hit you?”
The M.M. looked down in horror.
“Bloody hell!” he screamed. “Where’s my Rolex!”

Thanks to Robert for this one.
OMG! That’s PERFECT!
You enjoyed it. Good!
How did he call the police with only one hand and not notice?
Other than that, quite funny.
He was an American. I thought they could do everything! 😉
Although there is exaggeration to make a point and bring laughter about, there are such people around. And they are painful to watch!
Very, very painful!
Gosh, and I was missin’ the loss of the little squirrels round our place. Seems there are not so many as of late.
blessings ~ maxi
Maxi, I found you round the back by the bins. Is that where you were looking for the squirrels? 😆
It is funny however…those same kind of people have gutted and taken down our government here in the US, and to re-quote your friend it is “painful to watch.” And experience. Keep up your jokes, I love them.
Celia, I have my friends to thank for the Thursday specials, they send them to me from all corners of the globe.
Thanks for your suggestion about cooking and freezing meals, I will have to add that to my fall, er, autumn to do list. 😉
Celia, it certainly makes life easier, the cooking is finished off in the oven leaving me time to share with my guests.
Me too! I make lots of dinners, soups etc., and freeze so that I can take them out and reheat when I don’t have time to make a meal. I have three freezers and I don’t think I can fit another thing in them! When deer season comes around I hope I have put a good dent in one of them so that the deer has a place! Does anyone else besides me use their garage as another freezer during the winter months? LOL I am not joking by the way! 🙂
My heating boiler is in the garage, so my car has a warm bed in the winter! 😉 I have a pantry cupboard in my kitchen on an outside wall and it keeps vegetables fresh for quite a few days if not weeks (potatoes).
Me too! First I need a bigger freezer!
Barbara, last time I replaced my fridge freezer I downsized 🙁 not a good idea when there are times I cannot get to the shops easily.
I have a good sized freezer but it’s full! Would be better if it was full of home made meals
This American is 14th generation. It is very sad to see where we have gone….awry. I am so glad that I don’t live in the city. It gets so that I don’t even want to watch the news, unless it is the weather. Rollex? Porche? Saturn and Dodge Ram here and an inexpensive watch that can take a beating works for me! 😉 The world of “Haves and Takes”….sigh…so sad. Glad I live where people still look after each other and share. I wonder when it will fall here as well.
“Haves and Takes”, we have a few of them here too! It is not a way of life for me.
You are a good soul. My mom passed four years ago due to complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. I wish she could have had a pup to be there for her. She never liked dogs. She did like cats. Me? I love all animals. I have a great fondness for my kitties and I love pups. I truly miss my Maisy. She was that “one” dog. We will be getting another puppy just after Christmas. Another golden retriever. She will be 7 weeks old and I think I have found a name for her. I am looking forward to meeting her for a play date and then bringing her home. There was no place to respond on your other post. I love life and rejoice in every single day. My memories of traveling and all that I have seen and experienced is precious to me. I pray that I don’t have the Alzheimer’s gene and will not pass it on to my children.
My mother was a chairside adventurer and loved life too. She inspired all of her children to see the world! She was a wonderful mom!
So happy that you have such a good friend at your side! 🙂
Mere, I try to live up to all my mother taught me. I’ll admit that it is only in recent years that I have become comfortable with dogs. The day I removed something from Buffy’s mouth was a landmark for me. Now we play games with a ball and she wants me to pull it from between her teeth.
LOL Someone stole your heart! Someone with four legs!!! 🙂
Too true!
I had a passenger the other day who tried to leave the car while it was still moving. Voluntarily. I wasn’t pushing. The door was the least of my worries. He didn’t seem to have any. Crazy people.
I bet it was a non driver! It is on days like that you need central locking for all the doors workable from inside the car.
No – it was someone who really really should have known better.
