One potato, two potato, three potato, four,
I think I need to peel a few potatoes more.
Five potato, six potato, seven potato more,
I need a bigger pot, as the pile begins to soar.
Eight potato, nine potato, ten,
Why is this house always full of men?
One potato, two potato, three potato, four,
Is that the sound of knocking that I hear upon the door?
Five potato, six potato, seven potato more
If they cover them in butter, I’ll run right out the door!
Eight potato, nine potato, ten,
When I grow up… I’ll never, ever, peel potatoes AGAIN!
Have you been able to live up to that promise?
Ramana, Live without peeling potatoes? No way. Even with rice and pasta dishes, I still eat potatoes a couple of days a week, so there are times when I still need to peel them. Mind you I am fond of a baked spud and often bake them, remove the skin, then mash the remainder to top a dish.
I remembered this potato ditty from childhood, but forgot how it ended. News item over here..’US Millionaires with Irish roots buying up castles in Ireland.’ Dianne
Dianne, this my own version to suit the mood of the moment!
The ’US Millionaires with Irish roots buying up castles in Ireland.’, is old news to us, it has gone on for years.
FUN! I love potatoes. Except the peeling part. Sometimes I just scrub them and cook them jackets and all.
I love jacket potatoes, makes the job so much easier.
