Housework was a woman’s job, but one evening, Jenny arrived
home from work to find the children bathed, one load of laundry in
the washer and another in the dryer. Dinner was on the stove, and the
table set. She was astonished!
It turns out that Ralph had read an
article that said, ‘Wives who work full-time and who had to do their own
housework were too tired to have sex’.
The night went off very well. The next day, she told her office
friends all about it. ‘We had a great dinner. Ralph even cleaned up
the kitchen. He helped the kids do their homework, folded all the
laundry and put it away. I really enjoyed the evening.’
‘But what about sex afterwards?’ asked her friends.
‘Oh, that?’ said Jenny …
‘Ralph was too tired…’
No, it was not Mayo this time, but his sidekick – Ramana, who passed on this little giggle today.
Hey Mayo, do you see how neatly I have been promoted?
‘Sidekick’ is what I said, don’t go getting a swelled head, Ramana! Right Mayo?
Oh, the bitter irony. And washery and dryery and cookery and slumbery!
Col, after all that work, I was worn out and fell asleep!
Bwahaha! Good one, GM
Glad you liked it, Nancy.
Riiiiiiiiight…

Maxi, 😀
Of course he was tired. I got tired reading the list of chores and thinking back on those days. Dianne
Dianne, we have it easy these days: automatic washers, driers, dishwashers, easy care fabrics with no need for starching or seldom ironing. Power, washers, and grass cutters, strimmers, hedge cutters and shredders to reduce the the redundant branches to mulch. Pity they are all at the expense of the planet.
Oh! I almost forgot floor polishers – no more need to tie the dusters to our feet and skate up and down to build up a shine!
Now that’s a good twist! Loved it. 🙂
Yes, it was rather unexpected!
The coffee spitter returns!
Mop up cloth on the way!
Good one, GM
Glad you enjoyed it, Brighid.
