To be nobody but yourself ~ in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else ~ means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting. ~ e.e.cummings
I think I’m still a long way from being who I really am, and I doubt if I’ll ever get there. My public persona has a life of its own. But I’ll keep on trying.
Nick, we all travel at different speeds, I hope you find the road to the real you and soon. Peace of mind is more important than how other people perceive you.
When public holidays fall in the middle of the week, like these last two – last week, the rest of the week goes AWOL. I spent half of Sunday (even though cellphone/computer said Sunday) trying to decide if it was really Sunday. I thought back to what I had done last week, and none of it made sense.
Now we are onto out next set, Jan 1 & 2 (NZ does the two) and the only difference as such is the shops will not be closed as they are 25th Dec. I suspect that by the end of this week I will be confuserlarged yet again!
Why is this? I’m on my summer holidays until end of February and hence my schedule is basically “be nowhere, for any reason”
I got that. These holidays mid week are really confusing, It is like having five weekends in a row! I now understand why some companied close down for the complete couple of weeks.
That is why I never grew up! Do you think that Mayo did?
I think Mayo came from Tír na nÓg
I read about the land of Tir na nOg & yes Mayo came from there. He has red hair so that makes him Irish.
It will be interesting to hear what he has to say!
Personally, I would agree with this, but my inner child would get really mad at me, so I won’t.
Don’t get mad, Al. I do not like tantrums! 😉

Thanks, Nancy. I like that and am happy to be me!
That e e cummings quote is spot on. As he says, there’s constant pressure on us to be someone else, and it’s sometimes hard to resist.
Nick, I rebelled early and chose to ‘Do it my way’!
There’s a big difference between growing up and getting old. I’m still growing up (and out – lol) but old most definitely
Chuck, you are as young as you feel – Why do you think my late husband married a young wife! 😆
Great idea. Dianne
I think so!

This growing-up thing is vastly overrated. Far better not to bother.

I know, Col, I tried it. Now I am working my way backwards!
i like the Cummings quote very much! That’s a good one to carry into the new year. 🙂 Happy New Year!
Debra, Yes and the one Nancy added, works well to. Way to go May 2014 Bless you and yours.
