Elly took me shopping when she was here at the weekend. We did a grocery run on Saturday and my fridge, freezer and store cupboards are now full to the gills & ready to face a siege. I love to pick my own food, so have not given in to shopping on-line. I still need to meet people face to face and talk. On-line shopping will be fine when I become a complete recluse!
One non food item I had on the list was slippers/indoor shoes. We took off after lunch yesterday and I found these:
Sketchers GOwalk™
They are so comfortable, each shoe in my size weighs 3.6 ounces. It is like walking on a layer of marshmallow or a soft sponge pavement!
The only pair in my size, yesterday were grey. Pity they did not have the Raspberry.
Looking online today I realised I need to save my pennies before next winter…..
WOMEN’S SKECHERS GOWALK – TOASTY
Colours: Chocolate, Black or Chestnut.
Don’t tell Elly…… I almost forgot to take them off when I went to bed last night! 😉
By that definition, I am a recluse! I do almost all my shopping online or by phoning for supplies.
I wear similar canvass shoes in the winter here despite it not being as cold as it is there and often fall asleep wearing them, particularly when I am on the recliner and reading. What is the big deal? That is what being a senior citizen is all about.
My remarks were tongue in cheek. I love to go out and meet people, not alone do I have the fresh air & exercise, but hear wonderful stories, or learn about the difficulties others have to endure on a daily basis. This helps put my issues into perspective.
I have always had difficulty buying comfortable shoes. Always. The soles on these are a pleasure to walk on and the uppers suitable for Spring through to Autumn, but I will need something warmer for next winter. Those I linked to, look ideal!
We semi-regularly order stuff online, but it’s generally things that are not available locally. For instance, I have an order for tshirts coming from Duluth Trading Company. They are quality tshirts that are three inches longer than standard so that they don’t come untucked in the back when bending over to work on something. I have a hard time find t-shirts long enough in my size. For most things, though, we buy locally.

I am long in the back and hate a gap and It makes me feel the cold. I like the idea of the Duluth longtail shirts!
I had intended just a link to that video — didn’t know it would insert into the comment like that. They have one for the women’s shirts, too.

Nice one! Thanks for sharing that link.
Those shoes look very comfortable. I don’t blame you for buying them.
Gigi, they are well worth the price. I have had outdoor trainer type Sketchers for a few years, these are a newer style and so light.
Glorious when you find something that cuddles and supports your feet. I like that Duluth Trading Company too, I’m long waisted too, cuts off the drafts 😉
Celia, Our feet are so important and they carry our weight throughout the day. I like my comfort in shoes as well as long t-shirts!
PS: I am unable to comment on your blog as it will not accept my details. The Name/URL option seems to work on blogger blogs for me. 🙁
Oh I totes like them, they are exactly what I want as my slippers are fading fast and are so cold on the feet. Need ones that carry me in and out of the house…
I’ll check the website. Tx GM!

Do you have an Outlet centre near you? If so you might find them there at a cheaper price. If you know your size then check Amazon!
I love Sketchers shoes, and have bought several pair!
They are really very comfortable and light, I have a couple of pairs that I bought at least four or five years ago and they look great. I did treat them to a turn in the washing machine and then put shoe trees in to keep the proper shape as they dried naturally!
They really look comfortable and like good, stable footwear. All weather terrain! I think you need the raspberry! 🙂
I might try the fur lined ones for winter slippers!
