Céad Míle Fáilte

Ireland, the land of A Hundred Thousand Welcomes, – Céad Míle Fáilte, it  is a pronounced like this:

How would you like a welcome to Dublin like this:

I bet that got your toes tapping! It was a flash mob of Irish dancers from the cast of ‘Take The Floor 2013’ at Dublin Airport recently.

Now there’s a grand way to get rid of jet lag!

I tap my toes…. while sitting in a chair! I was never good at Irish dancing. My brother who came to mind me at the classes, went on to win medals. I remained a wallflower! 🙁

Well, I couldn’t do that clogging the Irish do. However, we have some great dancers over here in the Appalachian mountains. No doubt they brought their dancing skilled and whiskey making talents from their Scots Irish forebears.

Loved the dancing, love to dance, not necessarily good at it, but still love it. That would be a fun thing to see at the airport. We have this really ugly big red rabbit as the center piece for our airport, everyone I know hates it…

It would certainly lift the spirits of weary travellers. Shannon and Derry airports also had a visit from the dancers.

Thank you so much for the pronunciation! I have never known how to pronounce. I was waaay off. LOL! But the flash mob. What a thrill! I would have been over the moon to have been in the terminal when they appeared. Such talent! This was delightful! 🙂

I suppose we all struggle with language pronunciation, if we are not brought up with it. Mind you, I still struggle with Irish, it had not been standardised when I was at school.
