Happy ‘push’ anniversary!

That is a greeting I found on my Facebook page this morning. It made me smile!

My youngest niece, Clare, went on to explain:

On our birthdays, me and my siblings give my mum a ‘push’ present. Happy ‘push’ anniversary!

I like the idea of a ‘push’ anniversary.

Thirty six years ago, I did do some pushing, but even back then, My Elly was in a hurry and made my job easy. She has not stopped running since.

Yesterday, was the last of our Spring Bank Holiday Weekend, and Elly took full advantage of the day off work.

She chose to return to childhood for an early birthday, playing giant jenga, bean bag toss, and sack races!

Typical! That is my Elly, strolling along, while encouraging everyone else to do the hard work.

Have a wonderful Birthday today, Elly, you deserve it. You bring so much joy to my life and to everyone you meet along life’s way!

Chocolate cake next weekend, me thinks!

Thank you, Gigi. No doubt she will be round when she catches her breath to comment.

Elly is never short of ideas for good old simple fun. I just talked to her, she is only home from the office, about to take Buffy for a walk and then back to make dinner. I would say an early night will be in order tonight.

    Happy birthday to her!
Parents certainly do a lot of pushing – out, for the mother, then into doing things they don’t want to do – like work – and of course some bad spouses simply push off.

Apologies Col, It is Saturday and I found you languishing in the spam bucket. I seldom had to push Elly, she was always in a hurry, and her head was at least a year into the future. My difficulty was in getting her to slow down.

Nancy L, I hear you and I bet Elly did too. No doubt she will appear here, once she has caught up on celebrations, work and sleep!

Folks, thanks for all the kind birthday wishes! We had a blast of a day on Monday, with the old school sports day, and yesterday was lovely and quiet, just me and the dog snuggled up on the couch!
