No. Immediately wad all your clothes up in a pile, hose them down and stomp on them. Put them in the freezer for two days and then thaw them out and wear them. That should make up for your years of sinful ironing as well as making you look 20 years younger.
I haven’t owned an iron in years.
I haven’t missed it.
Most of our clothes are wash and wear, or pull out of the washer and smooth out to dry, or . . . . give the wrinkled mess to Goodwill and allow it to be adopted by someone who enjoys ironing.
I agree, years ago my girlfriend taught me a trick that helps. After washing, put your clothes for 4-6 minutes in the dryer, remove them promptly and hang them on hangers.
Gerlinde, I must be the only person on the planet without a dryer or dishwasher. I get away without ironing several items of clothing, just by being around when the washing cycle finishes and putting the clothes on hangers before they go on the line. A breeze does most of the work for me.
That thought was what drew me to that little photo – and even though I declared I don’t like ironing I do if I have to. Like you I’m a smooth pillow case and tea towel lover 🙂
I love ironing. Always have. Is there, other than hope, anything more reassuring than smoothing creases? I swear, Grannymar, the only reason there is chaos in this world is to make that most satisfying order out of it. Or at least trying to.
With the advent of knits and iron free garments besides the introduction of spandex as warp in wovens, one does not really have to do much ironing now a days. So, it is not too late for redemption

‘Sinful ironing’…. ROFLOL! Twenty years would bring me closer to the age in my head!
Sometimes, I miss a nicely ironed shirt.
I think I have one shirt the colourful casual over wear, that takes a little creasing.

I like freshly pressed bed linen, tea towels and silk without creases.

Not the only one Grannymar – count me in on that statement 🙂
Phew! Glad to know I am not such an oddity, Cathy.
I own an iron and an ironing board, but have not used them in years.
I use mine weekly.
I don’t think that theory holds up. If I wear creased clothes, it just makes my face look MORE creased.
Nick, I cannot imagine you in creased clothes.
I like the ironed shirt and creased Wranglers, especially on a good looking man…
I agree, if they are tall, slim and brim full of energy!

Cathy, there is nothing more relaxing than a clean, freshly laundered bed.
How can you steal hearts away if you don’t go dashing away with a smoothing iron?
Col, I have evidence of one young lady who took that idea to the extreme! Watch out on Monday.
Seems intriguing!

U
I know someone whose skill with an iron are non existent. She irons creases into a garment, so much worse than those caused by the washing programme.

I prefer to wear natural fabrics and they do need ironing. The wickable fabrics are mostly used in casual wear.
