That is such good advice. They do say smile and the world will smile with you so this is another way of expressing that sentiment. Love it!

I have found that if I walk along the street with a smile on my face, people smile back. Maybe they think I know them from somewhere. It also keep the Toyboys guessing…… wondering what mischief I have been up to! 😉

Smiling uses fewer muscles than frowning. I also hope the creases curl upward, rather than down 🙂

“This old man’s cheeriness was worth a thousand of the church’s sacraments and memento mori’s. It was better than a prayerful mood. It proves to me old age as tolerable, as happy, as infancy… If he had been a young man, he would probably have thrown away his apples and put on his shoes when he saw me coming, for shame. But old age is manlier; it has learned to live, makes fewer apologies, like infancy.”
~ The Journal Of Henry David Thoreau.

This is from an episode that HDT writes about an old man in the woods carrying a killed bird and wild apples that he had gathered in his shoes apart from filling his pockets. He had nothing to carry all that load and was perfectly happy to use his shoes as a bag!

Young men these days up to those tricks, would laugh at you and continue along their way!

Just popped back to see what anyone had posted and noticed your great new header photo. It’s putting a smile on my face and you certainly are sharing happy with that one.
Blue skies, the ocean and a lighthouse on the cliff – perfect.

The photo is from the Giant’s Causeway on the North coast of Ireland. It is Ireland’s first World heritage Site. The polygonal basalt stone columns were the result of volcanic eruptions 60 million years ago. What you took to be a light house is in fact a couple of these stacks and known locally as The Chimney Stacks.

I wrote about the area here during my tour of Ireland series. You can check out the other thirty episodes on the dedicated page on my Header.

Same here! Walking up the town or along any street is an opportunity to remember tales and stories from the past, the regularly make me smile.
