Giving up doesn’t always mean you’re weak or wrong in any way,
sometimes it simply means you’re strong enough and smart enough
to let go and move forward with your life.

Good one
Yes, shackman, I used that advice twice this week, to end two stagnant friendships. I may well keep going and clear more deadwood from my lists.
Yes! Sometimes what we need to do is say, “this isn’t working.” And then pull the plug.
Nancy, there are a few on my list that have passed the reason and season, so it is time to pull the plug.
Boy, have I moved forward a lot!!
You old rolling stone, Al!
Indeed, put this behind me and move on.

I once knew a man who sat his family down every ten years, to review the past decade and plan for the next. Not a bad idea, to trim the address book either. I found an old address book the other day, half the people are dead and gone or moved to the far side of the world.
Hard to do, especially if you are on the verge of winning an EEO complaint of five years duration. But necessary for your own sanity if you want to get on with your life. Need to let Karma run it’s course.
Dianne, I was not aware what an ‘EEO complaint’ was. This stage will pass.
Had to do with age discrimination by a new young boss against older me. He wanted his own staff which did not mean me. I had a stroke following this episode and retired two years later. Hell of a way to end a career, but I never looked back.
I too had to retire in 2002 due to health issues, life on a see-saw is no fun, when you live alone. You are fortunate to have David.
Easier said than done, but good advice at least to start the process of letting go,
If someone does not want to be a friend, then there no point in hanging on. Better to use the energy in another direction.
Words to take to heart for sure! ” Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers.”
Brighid, Me too. We need to be careful what we ask for. All that glitters…. etc!
