Time

I no longer bother with decorating the house at Christmas, there is nobody only me to see it. Sometimes I am here and then other years I am away. There is nothing as bad as coming home to an empty dark house, that has been abandoned for several days, to an unlit tree and other trinkets needing to be packed away in boxes for another twelve months.

My Elly, George & Buffy were here for the weekend and that is our celebration over and done with. Sometimes she feels bad about not spending Christmas with me, but it is after all only one day and a short one at that. I cannot see the point in rushing around on the roads in bad weather and poor light. Roads filled with stressed drivers or others who are once a year drivers unsure of where thy are going, or those with drink taken.

We can have a fun day together at our leisure, in the summer when the weather is better, the days longer and the world calmer – Double the value, in my book.

I heard of one young lady, Molly, who was asked, at the nudging from aunts and uncles what she wanted for Christmas.

Her answer: A token of time! I love this child.

If each one devoted a few hours or a day, spread out over the year, It would be fabulous.

A TOKEN OF TIME AND A FEW HUGS…. Heaven at any age!

We still decorate, Karen more than me. Our oldest daughter and her hubby live 2 miles down the road. She brought her cute 3 year-old great-niece up to our house to decorate the tree and then decorate some sugar cookies.

Having youngsters about, makes a difference. I have no relations here in Northern Ireland, and and many of my friends are in similar situations, so we are no longer on the Santa route.

I just discovered that TIME is my worst enemy now, & nothing to be done. I have so little left considering how fast the years slip by. 🙂

I always have time to chat to family, friends and people I meet in the street. That way I learn something new every day. There will still be dust when I am dead and gone, but I will neither know about it or have to shift it!

I’m with you on this one, GM. Grandgirl arrived today and we spend the time when it happens and not when Xmas tells us to and keep it so simple. She leaves for her father’s on Xmas Eve.

WWW, Enjoy your days with Grandgirl, times like that are special. George, Elly, Buffy & I, enjoyed good food & fun in real time over the weekend with a generous helping of hugs and toe toasting round a real fire. Magic!

This year is to be vastly different, spending the night before and day with my family at Devonport. The reason for the overnight stay is because of public transport the next day…menu has only true item on it at the moment, elderly sister’s request for proper English xmas pudding…but it will more than likely also be roast turkey and trimmings – plus for those of who cannot tolerate/like pud – something lighter for dessert
