More than one view of the world

View from my windows this morning.

By the time I locked the back door wet stuff began to fall from the skies. Rain at the front of the house and snow at the back!

Both passed quickly. Do you think the local Council have installed a new way to wash down the streets and forgot to tell us? 😉

Nope, They are not looking out through my back door. I did once look out and call a young Elly to “Come quick!” There was a camel walking through a gap in the hedge on the other side the road, way down below us!

It was only a short shower, Nancy. I am officially about three fields below the snow line and miss most of the deep stuff. Frost and ice are the main problems for me. It has been a day of sunshine and showers each of ten minutes duration and the temperatures have now reached a high of 7°C, from 1°C this morning. My Granny was rightnwith her saying: ‘Ne’er cast a clout till May be out’!

Indeed! Here we are again with a frosty 0°C but bright morning. Thermals, I still love you!

We had a great thunder storm dump nearly an inch on us Sunday afternoon, and a sprinkling on Monday. 81 today with bright blue skies.

Our weather is very mixed right now. Yesterday (Wed) we had bright sunshine with a sharp nip in the air. It became very wet and windy after dinnertime, and the wind is still howling out there this morning.

Rained on my parade here today. I had just decided early arvo that I would rake up some leaves on the concrete pad where I am going to put a sampling art project – go to back door to fetch rake and hear a noise that sounds like rain – and by the time I got to front door, it was indeed hosing down…

About an hour later you would have wondered if I had been hearing/seeing things as I managed to get the leaves raked into a pile, too wet then to move them elsewhere.

Then when I had recovered from that I thought, “now I will lay out the bricks (uprights) needed” but no the rain was bucketing down and it’s been raining every since – now nearly dark!

Hoping to get it all done tomorrow – this is small art installation – sample more than anything and not completely with correct art-works…

It’s not quite time for thermals in NZ, but my lite (now/Autumn) weight sweater is not going to make it to winter as it’s sprouted some dreadfully big holes!

I think I’ll stick to my Granny’s favourite old saying: ‘Ne’er cast a clout till May be out’!
