Ramana, I am not sure about beauty and grace, but I did strive to be elegant. Whats that? You were not talking about me, you meant the era. Trust me to get it wrong!

Nancy, The second group were popular when Jack and I met, and the Perry Como number was one he often sang to me as we worked side by side over the years. His battle for life ended seventeen years ago today and instead of tears, I like to remember the happy times.

Nancy, Jack was a very happy soul, always singing or whistling and that is how I like to mark the day.

His career spanned more than half a century, unlike today when many Vocal Performers disappear after one hit record. In his day the voice and the diction were important, unlike today where the background noise must drown the sound of the singer.

GM; When Roy and I lived in Florida, Perry Como lived on the water not far from us. The tour boats used to pass his back garden twice a day and they always told the tourists that this was Perry Como’s house and ,almost every time, Perry Como would come out and wave to the people on the boat. They were all thrilled to see him. He was so nice. And I’m proud to say that he was from my home state, Pennsylvania!

Nancy, I knew Perry Como came from Pennsylvania. He was the kinda guy my mother approved of: mannerly, neatly dressed and had a nice voice! 😉
